Who We Are

TEARS, Inc received a HRSA grant to implement a Rural Communities Opioid Response Program. The RCORP-Implementation (RCORP-IMP) is a multi-year initiative by the Health Resources and Services Administration aimed at reducing the morbidity and mortality of opioid use disorder (OUD), including substance use disorder (SUD) in high risk rural communities. As an RCORP-Implementation award recipient, we have developed our Consortium as the _ (name of Consortium) ___ to assist our RRC-MBB Project Team in implementing a set of core SUD/OUD prevention, treatment, and recovery support activities. These activities are grounded in evidence-based practice models that will be tailored to address the unique needs of our targeted service area.

Mission

The goal of the Recovery Resource Center is to reduce opioid overdose deaths In Macon County through expanded access to overdose education and naloxone, public awareness, assessment, and referral to treatment.

We are a contact and referral recovery center for opioid and substance use disorder related problems.

  • Expansion of Naloxone access and availability (to community, agencies, providers, etc)
  • Pilot a program for free, home-delivered NARCAN
  • Develop a Recovery house
