Recovery Programs

We here at the Recovery Resource Center of Macon, Barbour, Bullock County (RRCMBB) have a multidisciplinary (mental health or recovery-focused) team to support people in assessing, treating and stabilizing their Opioid Use Disorder. We offer a warm and compassionate setting to support participants in their recovery process.

RRCMBB recovery coaches are often Peers in the pursuit of Recovery, but also have a wide range of training from grief to anger management. RRCMBB counselors offer (Outpatient Treatment or recovery services) for Substance Use Disorder that includes groups, individual sessions and addressing issues that may be perpetuating your addiction.

Mental health services

Recovery Management

In Partnership with Community Connections of Macon County, a program affiliated with the Alabama Department of Corrections, our goal is to decrease the recidivism and offer a second chance at life through recovery. Recovery Management services are available to re-entering citizens of Macon County community connections, Referrals from Macon County Drug Courts, and individual inquiry. Recovery Management activities include: individualized services & support, Cognitive behavior Therapy groups, Adult education services, mentorship/volunteer Opportunities, and GED preparation.

Health Education

The goal of the Recovery Resource Center is to provide information on how to live a “healthier life”, educating the recovery community on topics such as African American health, nutrition, providing HIV/AIDS education, Holistic & Alternative health education, and other related education resources.

Peer support coaching

The Recovery Resource Center is founded on the concept of being Peer-led, Peer-ran, and Peer-driven. Our roots of this project are founded in Peer Practices the is the heart of our organization. Services are based on being able to support members in our community with their recovery journey by connecting them with individuals that share that lived experience. Our peers range from 2 years to 30+ years clean and sober. Our Certified Peer Recovery Specialists will mentor and support individuals on their recovery journey to find and maintain long term recovery. A Certified Peer Recovery Specialist can help with an array of services:

  • Pro-social support building
  • Safe and sober events and activities
  • Housing Assistance
  • Employment Resources
  • Connecting with 12-step community
  • Emotional, mental, physical and spiritual support
  • Groups to address topics common for early Recovery (such as relationships, anger, emotional maturity, and grief) 

Strengthening Families

The Recovery Resource Center of MBB is designed to provide family support and skills training to increase cohesiveness and to strengthening the family unit in the recovery community. The program offers training to increase resiliency, reduce risk factors for opioid use disorder, substance use disorder, depression, violence and aggression as well as school failure among recovering parents and children.
